Le corindon blanc est un abrasif blanc fabriqué à partir de poudre d’alumine industrielle (Al2O3) avec une teneur supérieure à 98 % et une petite quantité d’oxyde de fer et d’oxyde de silicium. C’est un abrasif blanc qui fond à haute température. Sa dureté est légèrement supérieure à celle du corindon brun et sa ténacité est légèrement inférieure. Il est fabriqué par fusion et refroidissement à plus de 2000 degrés en arc, broyage et façonnage, élimination du fer par séparation magnétique et tamisage en de nombreux types de granularité. Il a une texture compacte, une dureté élevée et une forme pointue.
